Kerala,
known as ‘God’s Own Country’ is probably one
of the greenest places you will ever see. Located
on the south western tip of India with the Arabian
Sea on the west and the Western Ghats towering
500 to 2700 meters on the east, Kerala enjoys
unique geographic features that have made it
one of the most preferred tourist destinations
in the world. Realizing this, the National Geographic
Society declared Kerala as one of the ‘Must
See’ destinations for ‘a complete traveler’.
Kerala has got a lot of unique reasons to be
called ‘God’s Own Country’.
An equable climate, a long shoreline with serene beaches, tranquil stretches of emerald backwaters, cool hill stations, exotic wildlife, breathtaking waterfalls, lush paddy fields, ayurvedic health holidays, enchanting art forms, magical festivals, historic monuments, mouth watering cuisine and much more, all contribute to make Kerala, a unique destination for the discerning tourist.
Every district in Kerala has it's own unique culture and characteristics. Thiruvananthapuram is known for it's beach- Kovalam, the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple and various museums and palaces; Alappuzha for it's backwaters, Thrissur, the cultural capital, Kottayam for it's ancient churches, Kozhikode for it's old world charm and Kochi, the commercial capital as well as a symbol of the colonial era. |
